"This Is Not Just a Conflict. This Is a Collapse of Conscience."
"This Is Not Just a Conflict. This Is a Collapse of Conscience."
by Christoph Devillers
Every day I post. And I'll keep posting.
Until it gets under people's skin.
Until they stop scrolling.
Until they realise that this is not just a war, It is the calculated disintegration of a civilian population.
I'm writing this as a Belgian citizen.
I'm not a professor. I'm not a diplomat.
But I know what I'm seeing.
When a head of state, in this case, Benjamin Netanyahu , publicly announces the permanent military and political control of Gaza, and invokes a "resettlement" plan conceived by a far-right American president, while hospitals lie in rubble and children starve then that is no longer "defence".
It is colonial domination dressed up in security rhetoric.
The response?
- Vague statements of concern.
- Slow-moving diplomatic murmurs.
- International silence that borders on complicity.
This is not a new conflict. This is a slow, suffocating erasure.
And history will record how long it took us to say: enough.
If we, as citizens of the so-called free world, continue to rationalise, postpone, minimise,
then we will become what we claim to oppose.
Not for the first time,
but maybe for the last.
Do not let this be normal.
Do not let this be another footnote.
Share. Speak. Intervene.
Or admit who we've become.
